Personal Projects
Cats Phrase
My latest project is a quiz game inspired by the classic game show CatchPhrase with both Windows PC and Android versions. The included footage is taken from the game running on an Amazon Fire tablet. As the game is fairly limited in scope, it gave me a real chance to try and develop a product that was a polished, complete game. Also, cats.
The game features over 100 well known catch phrases each with a picture clue.
The object of the game is to achieve the highest score possible within a time limit. The game features a drag and drop system to arrange words in the correct order. After every five correct answers the player has a chance to remove one square from a higher score catch phrase where the answer must be input manually. Catch phrases are selected randomly to improve replayability.
All artwork and UI assets were created by myself.
I thoroughly enjoyed this project, building up the number of picture tiles was time consuming but kept me motivated to stay productive over the last months. Future plans are to implement a saved high score table and continually expand the question bank. Feedback has been incredibly positive, with even non gamers getting to grips with how the game functions swiftly and enjoying the game, even trusting me to install the game on their own device.
Old Faithful
This is my vehicle project created in Unity as a side project during my final year at university. The project was a way for me to explore and get a good understanding of vehicle handling mechanics using wheel colliders.
The aim of the game is to deliver the required number of logs to the log station. The player must navigate past obstacles such as mud and water, making use of the vehicle's winch system.
The vehicle features adjustable ride height, spring rates and tyre compounds to alter handing characteristics.
All assets for the project were created by myself, which admittedly slowed down production, but I enjoy using all the skills I have acquired, including creating UI, modelling and texturing assets for my projects.
Unity Football Quiz for Mobile
This was my first experience of creating a mobile game in Unity, a football quiz and collection game based around Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. This is a quick demo of the game running on Android.
The player must test their Spurs knowledge to win tokens which can then be used to try to unlock collectables to complete sticker style albums.
The game features a bank of questions that are randomly selected. Collectables are won in a slot style game of chance.
All UI and artwork were created by myself for the project.
Drone Sim
This is my drone game created in Unity, developed since completion of my university course. The game features a realistic representation of flying a drone, or quadcopter, something I like to do in my spare time. The drone has adjustable speed settings, allowing multiple pitch, roll and yaw rates.
The premise behind the game was to feature short levels introducing new gameplay mechanics regularly, increasing in difficulty. Future plans are to include aerial combat with AI drones.
Again, all assets for the game were created by myself.
